Prior to 1903 Coca-Cola used cocaine in its popular cola flavoured beverage, now 123 years later the company is to reintroduce the recreational drug into its ever popular carbonated drink.
Authorities worldwide are reacting angry to the news that Coca-Cola will be adding cocaine back into its recipe but there is very little they can do about it. Back in 1901 the company got special dispensation by the world governing body for food affairs which allowed it to sell cocaine despite it being illegal everywhere. In fact Coca-Cola are officially the only licensed cocaine dealers outside of hospitals and dental practices. To find out more we spoke with people on both sides of the argument.
Drug Enforcement Agency spokesperson David Nocoak told us about their concerns, “Back in 1903 Coca-Cola was used for medicinal purposes but now it’s a popular drink worldwide. Putting cocaine back into its recipe will make everyone who drinks it a drug addict. 1.9 billion drinks of Coca-Cola are sold everyday worldwide, that means it’ll take less than 4 days for the whole world to be addicted and this includes new born babies too, it’s disgraceful. Only an irresponsible company would purposefully turn new born babies into cocaine addicts.”
Hernrique Braun, the CEO of Coca-Cola retaliated by saying, “We are merely trying to make Coca-Cola more tasty and cocaine gives it that extra kick. People claiming that new born babies will become addicted are stupid, because their parents shouldn’t be giving them Coke until they are at least 6 months old. The public will love the new recipe, it’ll be lip smackingly good and that’ll be our new slogan. It’s never been proven that cocaine is bad for you anyway so what are people complaining about?”
Mary Sket, popular guest from the Jeremy Kyle show in the UK said, “It’ll be great this, be able to get me cocaine legally like. I won’t even have to use my credit card to make a line, which has been difficult for me to do anyway as all me credit cards were taken off me like. I can’t wait and I won’t become an addict because I already am one so they are just talking out of their arses.”
